Although three years have passed since its entry into force, it was necessary to amend the Regulation on the Process of Strategic Planning, Annual Planning and Reporting at Ministries of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and adapt it to the needs of Federal ministries and other institutions in the Federation in a more adequate and better way. At the same time, it is necessary to continue the activities related to the adoption of the Law on Strategic Planning.

A meeting was held for this purpose on September 11 of this year. It was attended by the representatives of the Federal Development Programming Institute (Ljubiša Đapan, Director of FDPI, and Nijaz Avduklić and Rijad Kovač, Assistant Directors) and representatives of UNDP (Marina Dimova, Head of Project and Aida Laković Hošo, Deputy Head of Project), as well as by representatives of the Research Foundation of the New York State University (SUNY RF) – Christian Haupt – Director and  Lejla Hasanović, Legal Issues Officer of the Project Strengthening Government Institutions and Processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SGIP).

The goal of the USAID financed project is to assist the competent institutions in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the adoption of the Law on Development Planning and Management and public policy development and improvement. Future activities related to the adoption of the mentioned law, such as consultations with the competent bodies of the Federation, cantons and other institutions, conduct of an impact assessment of the law in compliance with the Decision on the Manner of Preparation, Impact Assessment and Selection of Policies in the Draft Procedure for Acts Proposed and Adopted by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Federal Ministries, and other activities provided for by the legal procedure were agreed during the meeting.
