On 13 October this year, the Working Group for harmonization of strategic planning in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina continued to work in extended composition. The goal of continued work is further vertical and horizontal integration of the strategic planning process. Members of the working group, in addition to the Federal Development Planning Institution and partner from the UNDP Integrated Local Development Project, were representatives of Federal Ministries and Cantonal governments and representatives of local governments.

 Nijaz Avdukić, assistant director of FDPI, at the beginning of the meeting presented the key elements of the preliminary draft law on development planning and development management, which resulted in 5 bylaws (methodologies) to be developed in the coming period, especially emphasizing the issue of methodology for the preparation of strategic documents in the FBiH. Elements of the planning system and development management in the Federation of BiH were presented by Aida Laković Hošo, and the general structure of the planning methodology by Marina Dimova from the UNDP. 

After the keynote speeches, the workshop was continued by work in the working groups, in which the emphasis was on issues of content of all strategic documents in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the hierarchy of objectives and mutual vertical integration. At the end, the framework concept, scope, content and specifics were defined on which to base the Regulation on the methodology of development of strategic documents, in accordance with the framework set out by the Law on development planning and development management in the Federation of BiH.
