Within the Project "Implementation of the BiH Development Strategy and Social Inclusion Strategy - ISR / SSU BiH", funded by the Swiss Development Agency, a serial of trainings for officers of the Federal Institute for Development Programming are planned to be held in the first half of October 2012.

At the training held on October 8, development planning in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, federal and cantonal leve was discuessed, officers from FZZPR took part, together with representatives of the Canton Sarajevo Development Planning Institute. The training was held by Vasle Boštjan, Director of UMAR, Slovenian institution responsible for development strategies in that country, as well as macroeconomic researches.

Boštjan presented horizontal and vertical organization of UMAR, the most important projects that this organization prepares for the needs of the Slovenian Government and other interested entities. He emphasized the high level of expertise needed for the projects and importance of public presentation of these projects, like publications presented to the Slovenian public and to interested social and political subjects in the country. The media have very important role in this process, UMAR's specialists therefor organize press conferences and other ways of public presentation. In the communication strategy, plan for daily and qualitative communication with journalists and the media in general, in professional terms, is very important.

The director of UMAR presented Slovenian experience in preparation of the Slovenian Development Strategy, as well as monitoring the implementation of the Development Strategy over the last six years.

The improvement of the Development Report of Federation biH for 2011 and 2012 was discussed later on October 9, by participants of the workshops - representatives of the Federal Institute for Development Programming and Development Institute of Canton Sarajevo. Mr. Boštjan commented the BiH Development Report prepared by the Directorate for Economic Planning of BiH and the Draft Development Report of the Federation BiH. The conclusion was that the Development Report of the Federation BiH for 2011, is a good start that should be further improved, taking in consideration the European positive practice. In essence, the reports should be more concise, more precise, with multiple graphs, tables and with the most important recommendations to improve  the state.
