Under the DS/SIS B&H Implementation Project, representatives of FDPI and Planning Institute of Sarajevo Canton discussed the experiences and achievements in the implementation of these strategies, especially in relation to experiences of cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina during workshops held in Sarajevo (January 28 and 29, 2013).

The focus was on experiences related to development planning implementation in Sarajevo Canton. This time, workshop participants analysed in detail macroeconomic indicators and forecasted their trends over the coming period. 

Maja Bednaš, Deputy Director of UMAR, informed the workshop participants on this. Representatives of the Federal Development Programming Institute and Planning Institute of Sarajevo Canton were informed about procedures applicable to macroeconomic indicators forecasts. Experiences related to preparation of a basis for economic growth forecast preparation were particularly emphasized in relation to these procedures. Maja Bednaš spoke about the importance of a thorough preparation of a series of statistical indicators on the gross domestic product and other macroeconomic indicators in order to give the best possible forecast of future trends. In addition to the above, workshop participants were informed about macroeconomic indicator forecasts based on the use of a model developed by Professor Spana.
