On June 6th, in Sarajevo, first meeting of Union of Long-term Sectoral Planning Practitioners in BiH was held. The purpose of the meeting was the exchange of practical experience in long-term sectoral planning and the implementation of European Commission recommendations related to the development of the methodology for long-term planning and creation of sectoral strategy. The first meeting of the Union of Long-term Sectoral Planning Practitioners was held within the Program for BiH Public Institutions Strengthening, implemented by GIZ on behalf of Government of Germany.
Present at the meeting were representatives of the institutions dealing with long-term planning: Ministry of Justice of BiH, Directorate for Economic Planning of BiH, Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH, the Federal Institute for Development Programming, General Secretariat of the Government of the RS, Secretariat of the Government of the BD BiH and PARCO. The meeting was organized in coordination and presence of representatives of the EU Delegation.
During the meeting the situation analysis of strategic planning at four administrative levels in BiH was presented, while a representative of the Federal Institute for Development Programming together, with other members of FBiH practitioners community, which is being established in cooperation with cantons and bodies involved in development planning in the cantons, presented the experiences in FBiH.
