On Friday, September 28, 2018, the first online meeting of practitioners was held with the purpose to review the current state of development planning in cantons, organized by the Federal Institute for Development Programming and the UNDP Integrated Local Development Project (ILDP).
The new practice of "virtual" working meetings is starting as result of the initiative of the Federal Institute for Programming Development, while ILDP has donated needed equipment (TVs and special cameras) for development-planning units in eight cantons and the level of FBiH.
Two cantons that have not yet established these units (USK and HNK) have not received equipment this time. The purpose of the donation is to facilitate video conferencing and easier day-to-day connection between cantonal development planning units and the Federal Institute for Development Programming.
During the meeting, forthcoming obligations are presented, related to bylaws and the development strategy of the Federation of BiH, both defined by the Law on Development Planning. Current situation in each of cantons were disscussed, meaning present planning process and future steps. Practitioners have positively accepted and commended this way of interaction. By this type of meetings, more frequent and easier communication between cantons is enabled.
