The Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton, Sead Čaušević, met at the end of June with a UNDP ILDP representative, Marina Dimova, and Nijaz Avdukić and Rijad Kovač, Assistant Directors of the Development Programming Institute of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Development and Entrepreneurship, Petar Simić, and Minister of Justice and Administration, Alen Taletović, with their staff.
The reason for the meeting were consultations in relation to draft theses of the Law on Development Planning and Management in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina before this legal project is sent to the parliamentary procedure.
On this occasion it was said that the project aimed to ensure a future harmonised development planning and management system in the Federation in order to prevent the existing poor practice characterised by numerous strategies and small share of implementation. The goal of the consultations that have already been implemented in seven cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the improvement of development planning and development strategy at all government levels. Minister Taletović, who supports everything that has so far been done in relation to this project, emphasized a problem that might appear if individual cantons renounce part of their competence. ''The draft law does not include provisions on who is competent to act if a canton refuses to cooperate'', said Taletović.
On this occasion, the participants confirmed their willingness to continue operating, with the inclusion of all key actors at the cantonal level.
