Banovići, May 12, 2022 – Representatives of Development Programming Institute and Goverment of Brčko District, as the members of Council for Monitoring the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in BiH, on behalf of the Federation of BiH and Brčko District, visited the Banovići Municipality.
Nijaz Avdukić i Kemal Hadžimusić participated the meeting on behalf of Development Programming Institute of FBiH, and Amra Abadžić and Dominik Lukić on behalf of Brčko District Government.
With the Municipality’s Mayor dr Bego Gutić and his assistant Amir Mrkonjić it was discussed about the implementation of the 2030 Agenda at the municipal level in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was an occasion for representatives of the Municipality of Banovići to get a broader information about the importance of the 2030 Agenda and the Framework for the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and with the obligation and benefits it brings, especially for local communities.
One of the activities of the Council for Monitoring the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in BiH is to hold meetings with municipalities and cities to present their own activities and policies in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. The meeting on May 30, 2022 shall be held in Banovići - for the municipalities: Živinice, Lukavac, Kalesija, Kladanj, Olovo and Zavidovići. It is planned that the scheduled meeting will be attended by: mayors of these cities/municipalities, representatives of the Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH and the United Nations in BiH.
