Tuzla, November 17, 2022 – Nijaz Avdukić, acting Director of FZZPR,  and Miloš Prica, Ambassador, MFA, as representatives of the Council for Monitoring of the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, held a meeting with representatives of Rectorate of Tuzla University, led by Jasmin Suljagić, vice-rector for academic affairs.

They discuessed the engagement of academic community in implementation of Agenda 2030 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, moreover the inclusion of Tuzla University, as well as its cooperation with Council for Monitoring of the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Sustainable Development Goals (17 goals) represent a transformative plan for creation of better and sustainable future for whole world. They adress global challenges that the world is facing with, including powerty, inequality, climate changes, environmental degradation, prosperity, peace and justice.

The Rectorat representatives were informed about SDG2BiH Program launch, that will be realized through two components. The first one refers to the support to authorities at the national level, entity level and Brčko District, in processes of policy making and creation of measures for sustainable and inclusive development, based on BiH Sustainable Development Goals Framework, their implementation, monitoring and reporting. Second component of the Program refers to strenghtening of contribution of nominated partners – local self government units and cantons, in achivement of Sustainable Development Goals, thus directly contributing the citizens' life quality improvement.
