Sarajevo, June 06th, 2018, 35 participants from Local Development Units, Federal Institute for Development Programming, UNDP ILDP Project Team and Union of Municipalities and Cities in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, took part in the meeting of Local Development Practitioners Net.

Opening the meeting, Ms Vesna Trivljanin, Director of Union of Municipalities and Cities in Federation of BiH, informed about Union activities related to local development. She pointed the process of establishment of an inter- commission working group that will be developing legal, procedural and financial frame for strategic planning focused at local development strategies. She also informed that the Union of Municipalities and Cities in Federation of BiH is researching and mapping the strategic planning situation in local self-government units, 72 papers (out of 80 units) are collected. The report and analysis on the strategic planning system situation will be published on the Union web page.

Main subject of the meeting was the presentation of the coming regulations linked to the Law on Development Planning in FBiH (key changes of present legal framework and methodological approaches in Local Self-government Units, working aspects and dilemmas), presented by Mr Nijaz Avdukić, Deputy Director of FZZPR. During the two hours long discussion, the present members of the Net could hear about the news in the area of development planning, as well as the future obligations of local self-governance units. During their presentations, Mr Miroslav Lucić, representative of Inter-commission Working Group of the Union and Ms Šejla Hasić, presented the activities related to collection of information on outsource financing of local development priorities. They explained the need for relevant information to be collected by Local Self-government Units and Office of Union, those information are published on the web page and social media, as well as other communication channels.

At the end of the meeting, the participants elected the Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator of the Net.
