Sarajevo, September 26, 2019 - The first of twelve workshops related to the creation of the Development Strategy of Federation 2021-2027 is held today. The organizer is the team of the Federal Institute for Development Programming, an institution that is the key coordinator of the development planning process in the Federation of BiH. In addition to the Government of the Federation, support to the process of creation of the Development Strategy was provided through the Integrated Local Development Project, a joint project of the Government of Switzerland and UNDP.
During the workshops, with the assistance of local experts and the participation of key stakeholders in the socio-economic life of the Federation, basic problems, challenges and potentials in particular socio-economic areas will be discussed and identified. Based on enclosed conclusions, development solutions will be proposed within the following thematic areas:
- Competitiveness and Business Climate;
- Industry Development, Creative industry and Smart Specialisation;
- Development of SME, Entrepreneurship and Turnover;
- Macroeconomic Stability and Responsible Public Financials;
- Education, Science, HR Development and Labour Market;
- Agriculture and Food Production, Rural Development and Tourism;
- Health and Quality of Life;
- Demography and Social Policies;
- Corruption, Good Governance and Public Services;
- Transport and Communication Infrastructure;
- Energy and Energy Efficiency;
- Environment, Utility Infrastructure and Natural Resources Management (water, waste, forest, clean air);
The thematic areas are formed based on the analysis of the priorities and development directions defined in the existing strategic documents of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federation of BiH, the cantons, as well as documents relevant to the process of European integration and other international commitments of Bosnia and Herzegovina (including the Agenda 2030).
After these 12 workshops, during which the analysis of the situation in these areas will be elaborated, and the development solutions proposed, follows the organization of a block of workshops related to the definition of vision of the Development Strategy of the Federation of BiH 2021-2027, strategic goals, priorities and measures for the implementation of the Strategy.
All the mentioned workshops related to the situation analysis (12 workshops) will be held from September 26 to October 7, with the expected participation of 400 representatives of the institutions of the Federation of BiH, cantons, municipalities, state, business community, non-governmental sector.
