At the Final Conference of the UNDP project "Strengthening Capacities for Strategic Planning and Public Policy Development - SPPD" officers from 13 state and entity ministries got certificates for training completed.

The Project, started in January 2009 with an aim to train officers in governmental institutions to create strategic plans linked to budgets and policy documents. The SPPD established cooperation with ministries from the following sectors: labor and employment, energy, transport, agriculture, small and medium entrepreneurship and social protection.

The joint work of the project and the partner ministries during 91 workshops and over 1000 mentoring sessions resulted in 16 policy documents, 44 strategic plans with action plans (11 of them at the ministry level), 48 budget requirements in line with the strategic plans and 7 internal regulations that institutionalize strategic planning and policy development.

The Project has been implemented through the financial support from the European Union, the Government of the Kingdom, the Government of Netherlands, the Kingdom of Norway and the United Nations Development Program.
