Well prepared annual and triennial plans of work of the Ministries in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, are a precondition of quality economic reforms in the FBiH - it was said at the meetings of representatives of a number of FBiH Ministries and the Federal Development Planning Institution, held on 17 and 18 October in order to prepare the Economic Reform Programme (ERP) 2017 – 2019, as the most important document in the process of accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union. The first meeting was in Mostar, and the other in the premises of the FDPI in Sarajevo, and Zoran Zeljko, Director of the Directorate for Economic Planning of Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in its work.
At the meeting, they exchanged views and experiences on the process of preparing the ERP and the roles of federal ministries and institutions in the preparation of planning documents for economic reforms in the Federation of BiH, and pointed out the important coordinating and consultative role of the Federal Development Planning Institution in the process of preparation of this very important document.
It was concluded, among other things, that the Economic Reform Program is of the utmost importance for the country and, therefore, for the Federation of BiH, and that it is necessary to improve the quality of the document and cooperation in its preparation. They confirmed the methodological similarity of the ERP documents and the Economic Policy of the FBiH Government for a three-year period, and emphasized the need for timing of their preparation, in order to use the same materials for both processes. They also harmonized the view that through various projects such as SPPD II, it is necessary need to strengthen capacities in the strategic planning process, primarily through the development of high-quality triennial work plans which represent an excellent basis for the development of the ERP.
Meetings of this kind will continue until the end of this and by the middle of next month, and after that the Federal Development Planning Institution will organize a series of meetings with other relevant institutions involved in the preparation of the Economic Reform program in the Federation of BiH.
