The workshop entitled „The System of Strategic Planning and Implementation of Development Strategies“, organized by the Federal Development Planning Institution and UNDP Integrated Local Development Project ILDP, was held in the period from 30 May to 01 June 2016.

The aim of the workshop was to exchange good practices and experiences in the system of strategic planning and implementation of development strategies in all Cantons in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The workshop was attended by more than 30 practitioners for development planning from all ten Cantons in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives of key institutions from the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Directorate for Economic Planning of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as experts from Croatia, who presented examples of good practice from the European Union.

During the workshop there were presented the strategic orientations for the implementation of the Reform Agenda, and the role of the Cantons in the European integration process, as well as an overview of strategic planning at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Zenica-Doboj Canton.

On this occasion, the planning system and the challenges facing the Republic of Croatia were presented, as well as an example of successful integration of strategic planning and implementation of projects financed from EU funds in the Municipality of Erdut (RC), which is one of the municipalities that in the Republic of Croatia withdrew most money from EU funds. During the three days work, the possibilities were considered for forming a community of practitioners, as a platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences and tools among experts for planning in all Cantons in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the community of practitioners was recognized as an excellent means to share knowledge and information, and to strengthen cooperation between Cantons, but also with other levels of government in BiH.
