In the period from 14 to 16 December 2016, the Federal Institute for Development Programming and UNDP Project of integrated local development (ILDP) organized in Kupres a working meeting of practitioners dealing with planning, with the aim of exchanging good practice and experience in the development planning system and development strategy implementation in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The workshop was attended by practitioners of the Cantonal Development Planning, Federal Institute for Development Programming, Integrated Local Development Project, representatives of the Directorate for European Integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the guests from the Republic of Croatia.

At the beginning of the meeting, all the participants were greeted by the Prime Minister of the Canton 10, Drasko Dalic, who presented the steps in the process of establishing a system of development planning in terms of the cantonal development.  Also, the Office of the Prime Minister of the Canton 10 presented the projects that have been implemented in the canton, as well as the experiences of the Forest Economic Society - Hercegbosanske šume (Herzeg-Bosnian Forests) in the implementation of several projects financed from IPA funds.

During the workshop, there were presented current processes of strategic documents and system development planning in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the role of the cantons in the process of European integration especially in the context of strengthening the absorption capacity for EU funds.

Special attention was drawn by the guests from the Republic of Croatia. The director of the JU ReraSD (The ReraSD Public Institution) for coordination and development of the Split-Dalmatia County (agency that is specialized in the development and implementation of projects) and clerk for the preparation and implementation of projects, presented an example of successful integration of strategic planning and implementation of the projects financed from EU funds in the Split-Dalmatia County, including the problems and challenges facing the Republic of Croatia in these processes.

At the end of the meeting, the representatives of the Local Integrated Development Project presented the concept of continuing the implementation of the project until 2020.

During their stay in Kupres, the participants visited the Kupres dairy - BH Milch, Franciscan Museum and Gorica Gallery in Livno, where they had a first-hand opportunity to hear all the problems and challenges faced by entrepreneurs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to see the cultural heritage exhibited in the museum and gallery.
